Authors submitting manuscripts to the International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Engineering (IJETE) must adhere to the following formatting guidelines:

1.Introduction

The International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Engineering (IJETE) invites researchers, academicians, research scholars, engineers, and industry professionals to submit original and high-quality scholarly manuscripts for consideration. These guidelines provide instructions for manuscript preparation, submission, review, revision, and publication.

Authors are requested to read these guidelines carefully before submitting their manuscripts. Submissions must fall within the journal’s aims and scope, demonstrate academic merit, and comply with established standards of research integrity and publication ethics.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

IJETE considers the following categories of scholarly contributions:

Original Research Articles: Manuscripts presenting original research findings, experimental investigations, theoretical developments, computational studies, or novel technical approaches.

Review Articles: Critical and systematic evaluations of existing literature that identify research trends, knowledge gaps, challenges, and future research directions.

Case Studies: Detailed investigations of practical applications, engineering implementations, technological solutions, or specific research problems.

Technical Papers: Contributions describing innovative systems, algorithms, methodologies, prototypes, tools, or improvements to existing technologies.

Short Communications: Concise reports presenting significant preliminary findings, technical observations, or focused research contributions.

All submissions must be relevant to the journal’s scope and provide a meaningful contribution to their respective fields.

3. General Submission Requirements

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts meet the following requirements before submission:

  • The manuscript must be original and must not have been published previously as a full research article.
  • The manuscript must not be under consideration by another journal or publication at the time of submission.
  • All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission to IJETE.
  • The corresponding author must be authorized to communicate with the editorial office on behalf of all co-authors.
  • All sources, previously published findings, figures, tables, datasets, and other borrowed materials must be appropriately acknowledged.
  • Any necessary permissions for copyrighted materials must be obtained before submission.
  • The manuscript must be written in clear, formal academic English.
  • Research findings, data, references, and author information must be accurate and presented transparently.
  • Submission of a manuscript indicates that the authors agree to comply with the journal’s editorial and publication policies.
4. Manuscript Preparation and Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or another format specifically approved by the editorial office. Authors should use a consistent academic format throughout the document.

Recommended formatting:

  • Paper size: A4.
  • Font: Times New Roman.
  • Main text font size: 12 points.
  • Line spacing: 1.5.
  • Text alignment: Justified.
  • Margins: Approximately 2.54 cm on all sides.
  • Main section headings: Numbered consecutively.
  • Tables and figures: Numbered in order of appearance.
  • References: Formatted consistently using the journal’s prescribed citation style.
  • Authors should use the journal’s official manuscript template if one is provided. Specific formatting requirements communicated by the editorial office take precedence over these general recommendations.
5. Structure of the Manuscript

Research articles should generally contain the following sections, where applicable.

5.1 Title

The title should be concise, informative, and representative of the research undertaken. Unnecessary abbreviations, vague expressions, and excessive wording should be avoided.

5.2 Author Information

Provide the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, department where applicable, city, country, and email address. Identify the corresponding author clearly. ORCID identifiers may also be included.

5.3 Abstract

The abstract should summarize the research problem, objectives, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions. It should be understandable without requiring the reader to consult the complete manuscript.

Authors should generally aim for approximately 150–250 words unless the manuscript type or journal template specifies otherwise. References and unnecessary abbreviations should be avoided in the abstract.

5.4 Keywords

Provide approximately four to six relevant keywords or key phrases that accurately represent the main subject areas of the manuscript. Avoid unnecessary duplication of words already used in the title.

5.5 Introduction

The introduction should establish the research background, explain the problem being addressed, summarize relevant prior work, identify the research gap, and state the objectives and contributions of the study.

5.6 Literature Review or Related Work

This section should critically discuss relevant existing research, compare established approaches, identify limitations, and explain how the present study differs from or extends previous work. All cited sources must be properly referenced.

5.7 Materials and Methods / Methodology

Describe the research design, proposed approach, materials, datasets, algorithms, experimental setup, implementation procedures, and evaluation methods in sufficient detail to enable an informed assessment of the work and, where appropriate, reproducibility.

5.8 Results and Discussion

Present the findings clearly using appropriate explanations, tables, figures, experimental results, and performance measurements. Discuss the significance of the results, compare them with relevant existing methods where appropriate, and acknowledge limitations.

5.9 Conclusion and Future Work

Summarize the principal findings, explain the contribution of the research, acknowledge important limitations, and identify reasonable directions for future investigation. Avoid introducing unsupported claims or results that have not been presented in the manuscript.

5.10 References

List all sources cited in the manuscript. Each reference should contain sufficient bibliographic information to identify and retrieve the original source. Authors must verify the accuracy of author names, article titles, publication years, page numbers, and DOI information where available.

Additional sections, such as acknowledgements, funding statements, author contributions, conflict-of-interest declarations, ethical approval, and data availability statements, should be included when applicable.

 6. Tables, Figures, and Equations

Tables and figures should support the research narrative and be referenced in the main text.

  • Number tables and figures consecutively.
  • Provide a clear title or caption for each table and figure.
  • Ensure that labels, symbols, legends, and units are readable.
  • Cite the original source of any reproduced or adapted material.
  • Obtain permission where required for copyrighted content.
  • Use appropriate resolution and formats for images, charts, diagrams, and screenshots.
  • Number equations consecutively when necessary and define all important symbols and variables.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all visual and mathematical material is accurate, relevant, and consistent with the accompanying explanations.

7. Citation and Referencing Policy

Authors must acknowledge all works that have influenced their research, including journal articles, conference papers, books, technical reports, datasets, and relevant online resources.

References should be cited consistently throughout the manuscript. IJETE may specify IEEE referencing style or another style through its manuscript template or editorial instructions.

Authors must not include fabricated references, misleading citations, or sources that do not support the statements attributed to them. DOI links should be included whenever available and verified.

8. Originality and Plagiarism

IJETE expects all submitted manuscripts to meet high standards of originality and academic integrity.

Plagiarism includes presenting another person’s words, ideas, research findings, figures, code, or other intellectual contributions as one’s own without appropriate acknowledgement. Self-plagiarism and redundant publication may also constitute publication ethics concerns when previously published material is reused without adequate disclosure or justification.

All submissions may be screened using appropriate similarity-checking or research-integrity tools. Similarity percentages are not, by themselves, a definitive measure of plagiarism; the nature, source, extent, and context of matching material must be evaluated.

Manuscripts containing plagiarism, fabricated data, falsified results, manipulated images, or other forms of research misconduct may be rejected. Where concerns arise after publication, the journal may investigate and issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate.

9. Final Checklist for Authors

Before submitting a manuscript, please confirm that:

  • The manuscript falls within the aims and scope of IJETE.
  • The work is original and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript is complete and follows the required format.
  • All authors have approved the submission.
  • All references and citations have been verified.
  • Tables, figures, equations, and supplementary materials are properly labelled.

10. Editorial Disclaimer

Compliance with these guidelines does not guarantee acceptance or publication. IJETE reserves the right to request additional information, return manuscripts for correction, seek further review, or reject submissions that do not meet the journal’s scope, quality expectations, or ethical requirements.

The journal may update these guidelines when necessary to reflect changes in editorial procedures, publication standards, and research-integrity practices. Authors are encouraged to consult the official journal website for the latest instructions before submitting their work.
